What to Wear When There's Nothing to Wear Because You're on Crutches

Blogging With a Broken Body Part and a Titanium Rod in my Leg

If I was ridunculouly rich I'd buy the whole outfit to wear tomorrow, but alas, I am not wealthy on a teacher's salary and I can't wear what I own, much less pull out an ensemble to style (stupid klutzy me and minimal sick days). Jeans are out for a while, but I can only manags Jersy, knit or a comfy running shoe on one foot.

I Broke My Leg

Post Surgery: day 2 Long Beach Memorial Hospital

I have a rod, staples and screws in my leg and I really miss teaching! I want to go back Monday, but it seems like it will be Wednesday. Sorry for the lack in posts and inability to do anything in cute shoes for a while. ;p

Post Flapper Dancer

I Wish I Could Dance

So, I broke my leg today so no more stylish shoes for me, but gere;s what I wore to work on the 2nd day of school.

I wore Minnetonka ankle booties with deeply discounted lace hosiery, a Luxe dress, a Charlotte sweater, thrifted and gifted jewels, one necklace from my collection and Marc Jocobs sunnies.

Back to School

I'm a Teacher Again, but I still Have to Look Stylish!
 Comfort Clothing

Now, my kids are my photographers and I have the same backdrop every day, bummer. I think the move downtown will make things easier!

I made a new friend with a beautiful dragonfly.

I wore Steve Madden flats for comfort, Theory pleated trousers, a thrifted Dana Buchman sequined tank, my bullet necklace and my own jewels.

One of My Favorite Fashion Icons

Alexa Chung in Marie Claire

I love the look of Church's oxfords paired with opaque tights and classy tights. She has impeccable taste and shops  on the cheap, connecting H&M with designer pieces that are timeless. I am salivating over those red ankle boots. I want, I love, and must have them now!

Alexa Chung's Inspiration Francoise Hardy is Making me Contemplate Hardy's Influence on Fashion. I am Loving the Tomboy Look!

I have almost the exact same jacket! So chic and tough!

Isn't she gorgeous and isn't Alexa Chung a class act! J'taime! The french and the British always get it right.

Prancing Around in my New Blouse and Heels From Lola

A Lovely Day for Posing in the Sunshine

I wore cute little heels found at that little boutique called Lola on Linden street in the Arts District of Long Beach. I also wore a gold skirt found at a consignment store in La Jolla, a off-white, silk shirt found at Lola, an off-white Anne Klein camisole, a thrifted Chanel knock-off blazer, and a brand new lovely necklace made by yours truly which I've named The Meg!

Our New Loft Downtown: I signed a lease in this outfit

The Blackstone Luxury Lofts

We're moving to an awesome loft in Downtown Los Angeles on Broadway near everything fun that we like to do so we can play more often! This is our new parking garage! We'll be living in the Blackstone Luxury Lofts. They're not quite finished, but the units are completed! Yay! New fridge, dishwasher, and 2 walk in closets! That was a sell for me and we signed the lease then and there. To take a peak and really see where we'll be living and how fabulous it is go to this site to see flickr photos! They're pretty gorgeous. Our unit has two walk in closets and two window seats so it is a little more sexy then the average lofts we saw while browsing! It had our name all over it!

Party September 9th for Art Walk!
We're attending a party on September 9th, the night of art walk and we hope some of our friends will turn up to play. Unfortunately, we have to take measurements for the sliding doors we plan to install to create a secluded bedroom!

My Outfit
I wore Kenneth Cole wedges, an asymmetrical Ann Demeulemeester skirt, a vintage Dana Buchman sequined, silk tank, a gifted from mom, handmade in Hong Kong silk blazer that my Grandmother had made during the Olympics a long time ago (I love the off-white silk lining), a thrifted off-white Lucite bracelet, my bullet necklace, and a new necklace that I changed last night that was made to showcase the skeleton key that my wonderfully, blissful friend Megs sent me via snail mail (I'll most the new incarnation of the necklace tomorrow in all its glory) and Chanel nail polish which just chipped so I had to fix it. I am drying as I type!

Buskerfest an Event to Remember

Live Music and Awesome Vendors Who Were Pedaling Their Wares Dirt Cheap!

This is Cort's dream car! He'll get it when he saved up for his mid-life crisis! ;p

A fun band that is very alt-country, but their name escapes me right now!

First, we checked out Sam Outlaw!

60 Watt Kid started and we went over there so I could dance!

Then, we went over to see 60 Watt Kid! They were probably my favorite, by far! I gave them most of our wooden nickels.

I fell in love with this cute boutique that wants to feature my designs and jewels. I spent a little bit of money there too. I'll post some outfits that are inspired by and from there soon! They're so glamorous and girlie. I love love love them! The owner is a doll!

Before getting our dinner, we checked out Lola where I bought a ton of awesome new goodies!

The night winds down, so we take our new wares and begin to head towards our home.

We headed to Super Mex on our walk home for awesome, but ridiculously affordable dinner!

Super Mex had a special going so I didn't have to cook and we went home to enjoy a nice take-out meal!

I wore Minetonka, black, suede booties, a homemade, screen-printed skirt, a black, cotton tank (thrifted), a Built By Wendy jacket (borrowed from a friend), and an H&M scarf with my own jewels!
