Cracks: Reel in this Look

"Cracks", Cinematic Interpretation!
Translate the look. It's current and wearable!
Chic vintage goodness!
Lovely film, but seriously crazy teacher! She does some damage!
Fiona is hiding in the row boat away from her team and her teacher, Ms. G! She should've stayed hidden. Love the dreamy moment captured here and the crocheted pillows.
Wishing she was doing CPR and not a total kook! Oh well! She looks perfect! Eva Green is a vintage stunner and totally in the now! The looks are relevant, slightly masculine, but still feminine and prim. There is a Grace Kelly thing going on, but only in terms of the fashion! The tone of the film is dark and eery.
The agoraphobic ventures out, looking marvelous!
Glamour and grace ooze from her. She learned this from books.
I am eating up this cozy sweater with the silky head scarf. Boho.
simplistic
The girls and Ms. G! I love all the girls splayed out on the stairs like they're so bored. I remember that age. Everything was an adventure, but we always were saying how bored we were. lol!

Translating Film Fiction Into Reality
The look demands flared pants, silky scarves, a trench, blazers, a tie or two, at least one white shirt, mid length chiffon dresses, accessories in gold tones, florals, stripes, satin lingerie, cozy sweaters, a kimono or two, red lipstick and vampy red nail varnish!

do do do doo de de doo bop!

-Heard "Rider's on the Storm" via Fringe-
I love that show and that song!
Double Exposed Sunburst Silhouette

This capsule of photos demonstrates my Friday mood right about now. The song and the electricity, power, shower in the show paired with the song motivated me to post these moody photos from the past weekend. No, there weren't any lightning storms and no, we didn't have any rain, but the photos feel like the weather is off. I like that vintage cameras and film force us to feel! I hope you enjoy! They're fabulous Polacolor 669s that I took with my vintage, Polaroid Land Camera over the holiday weekend in Utah, utilizing expired film from 2001! I am in love with the colors that the film produces. This is my favorite double exposure of my friend, Catie, the designer for Collarbone Jewelry by Catherine Luckett.

She is amazing and you'll love her jewelry line even more than these blown up photos. Get ready cause I am posting the line next and the two new pieces she graciously gifted me for some traded pieces! Send her an email to find out which boutiques she is selling her wares in locally!

Friday: fancy free reviewing Stanton James!

-August's ArtWalk-
Explored Stanton James
Stanton James: an awesome new store, carrying great designers and their own line that's fabulous in DTLA! HOT Stuff!
I wore Jolt acid washed style stretch pants jeans, a Vintage T-Shirt, Me Too silver flats, my green supple leather Tano bag, a Cheap Monday necklace, a layered chain necklace by The Extras, The Extras layered rhinestone bracelets with leather bracelets, a black rhinestone watch and my favorite Nervous System Necklace (gift from my hubby)!
One of the adorable owners, Brittany, minus her co-owner, Brooke. She's rocking my favorite line, Phillip & Lillian, of recycled leather bags! Love!!!
Such a cute store!
Looks like Prada's Spring line, but less neon! You'll fall in love with all their accessories
Stop on by ASAP and you will not be sorry! It's a great store with a perfectly cultivated collection of lines and their own impressive line made here in LA! They're located at 600 S Spring St. in LA 90014! They're a must see in the Downtown area, but for those of you that are in other places or live out of town they're an online store too! Check out the site! Must buy too! So fun and such a great array of fripperies to choose from. This is what the yelpers & others are saying
I even had to stop by again to show the exterior display on the way home. Too cute! I m still in dire need of these off-white lace shorts. I have been craving them all summer. I found the cutest pair in both off-white and black at Stanton James!

New CAMERA TIME is kind of like "Hammer Time", but cool!

I Phone Apps are Fun for a While!
Hipstamatic hell is still happening, but the shots are decent since my hubby is  killer photographer regardless! I cannot wait for the Cannon I am eyeing to be a reality! Anyways, here my brother, Raven, and I are, chillin' at the Hyatt in Huntington during the Nike USA Surf Competition to avoid the HYPE! Relaxation achieved! He was stressin' so soaking was so necessary! xo
PS: I LOVE my new bathing suit! It is so comfy, flattering and sizzling hot!

A Bit of Fun and Favorites on a Fancy Free Friday!

-First Post this Friday-
Friday Favorites: Sales

Too Many Designer Sales and Affordable Things!
Weekend Sale Round Up:
1.) Boy By Band of Outsiders at Gilt: affordable sale items! Very nice transitional items that will take you straight from summer into fall with poise & style, gracefully. Rock it or be inspired.

2.) Catherine Malandrino Gorgeousness awaits you at Gilt or Net a Porter. The sales are way too good to be true. I am in Love!

3.) Vera Wang Silk Swag Boy Shorts are AMAZING over at Gilt, but there is only size 4 left so go get them if you are that size! They're hot! Sizzlin' sexy and superbly cut for a perfect fit and look to mix with numerous closet staples. I want them, but alas I am not a size 4 and even though the price is so silly crazy cheap at $79., I have overspent way to much on a pair of shoes, pilates classes and a chemical peel. Oopsie doops!

Perfect. Right? Now you are feeling me! I love these. Buy them and send me a picture of you wearing so I can turn green with envy instead of red from chemical peeling. Lol!

3.) Accessories and SHOES over at Gilt are so amazing and so affordable too! Shoes, Omg. Shoes, Omg. SHOES, OMG! Let's get 'em!

4.) Forever 21 Sale Items! The items are affordable and will incorporate into almost any outfit in any wardrobe. There are great basics and some interesting statement pieces!

PS: Menswear can be bought by a woman or borrowed from your man and these types of staples are fantastic items to add into every woman's closet! I borrow from my hubby all the time, but I also buy from the men's department when my hubby starts complaining that I stained or stretched something of his out! It's a lot easier to be on the other side of the argument and let him do the begging! Buying vests, skinny ties and men's cardigans because they are fabulous and blend seamlessly into my look even when I'm wearing girlie items is pretty cool. The hard edge works to toughen up an outfit into a look that isn't too saccharine sweet. It's all about the balance of the tough with the girlie and not going too far in either direction when mixing in the actual men's clothing.

These could use a bit of a custom alteration for a cleaner fit. I would do that myself. I think they're just a bit too wide and not the greatest silhouette from below the knee to the ankle.

5.) This is what's in my shopping cart from the epic sale at Urban Outfitters! You should definitely check it out since it's a really good sale with cute items! Go check out Urban's sales!
6.) I am loving these for our home from Swirl by Daily Candy. They're symbols of Longevity by the brand, Market, Street and you can get a set of 2 for $15.00! Check the whole line up out over there! Cute and amazing smelling soy candles that are great for the environment! I already ordered mine.
